Our noble religion encourages the building of mosques, making it a path to Paradise and gaining the pleasure of Allah, the Almighty. In the two Sahihs, the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, even if it is as small as a bird's nest, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.' A bird’s nest cannot possibly accommodate a person for prayer, indicating that any donation contributing to the construction of a mosque promises its giver a house in Paradise, even if the amount donated is small. This includes those who contribute to its building, work on it physically, or pay the workers, among other things. Building mosques is one of the ongoing charities, whose rewards continue for a person even after their deeds cease upon death.
